According to three senior General Security officials quoted by Reuters in April 2025, the new authorities set up two committees to manage properties belonging to people perceived as connected to the former government: one for confiscations and one for complaints. They were created as the new authorities closed in on Damascus in December 2024 and modelled on the “War Spoils Committee” of Idlib. 1
Their existence has not been officially announced, and Reuters could not determine whether the presidency oversees them. 1
